Peach sunset

Berry-red grenadine gives this rum-based serve a bold final flourish. Add it gently and watch it settle at the bottom of the glass. Grilled peach slices add an almost smoky caramelisation to the flavours in the glass. To get nicely defined stripes, try not to move the slices while they’re on the griddle or barbecue. Recipe from Waitrose Drinks magazine, summer 2024.

  • 25ml golden rum
  • 20ml peach liqueur
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 75ml peach iced tea
  • 5ml grenadine
  • Peach slice, to garnish


  1. Shake the rum, peach liqueur, lemon juice and peach iced tea with ice. Strain into a coupe.

  2. Drizzle the grenadine into the glass to create a sunset effect. Garnish with a peach slice.
