Food glossary



A traditional Greek hors d'oeuvre with a distinctive pale pink colour. Taramosalata is made from fish roe, vegetable oil, bread and lemon juice and has a rich creamy texture.

Waitrose sell traditional Taramosalata made with 12% marinated cod roe (170g and 300g), Reduced fat taramolsalata (170g) and Taramosalata supreme made with 24% cod roe (170g).

Uses: Traditionally served with pitta bread, Taramosalata can also be spread on hot toast, crackers or in sandwiches. It can also be served with crudité as a dip.

To store: Keep in the fridge and once opened consume within 2days. Consume by the use by date.
