Rosehips
The fruit of the wild rose, rosehips are attractive small deep red fruits and have been used in cooking since medieval times. Rosehips are a very good source of vitamin C.
Uses: Rosehips are most commonly used to make syrup, which was once widely available in chemists. Home-made rosehip syrup can be served in Greek yogurt, with ice cream or over pancakes. Rosehips can also be used to make jam or tea.
To prepare: Wash the rosehips, removing any damaged fruit. Snip off any flower remnants using sharp scissors.
