Marjoram

Marjoram

The leaves of the marjoram plant are a greyish green colour and they are quite small. Marjoram has a spicy, slightly sweet flavour and is interchangeable with oregano.

Uses: Add to pork, poultry and fish dishes. Marjoram also complements egg and cheese dishes and is very popular in Italian cookery.

To store: Keep fresh marjoram in the fridge for 3-4 days.

To prepare: The leaves can be chopped or left whole.

To cook: Marjoram has quite a delicate flavour, to preserve this it is best to add fresh leaves to cooked dishes either just before the end of cooking or add raw leaves just before serving.
