Darker stock at the top is still delicious, just a natural result of oxidation!
Earthy and nutty flavour. High in Fibre. High in Protein. Cooked carlin peas. Suitable for vegans. Use as an alternative to chickpeas.Introducing Bold Bean Co’s Queen Carlin Peas in collaboration with Hodmedod. Slowly cooked with a soft, delicate texture and nutty flavour, similar to a chickpea these are some of the best of British beans. WHAT IS A CARLIN PEA? Carlin Peas are Britain's best-kept secret, tasting like a puy lentil and a chickpea had a baby. Parched peas is how most OGs in Lancashire like to serve them, simply boiled and eaten with lashings of vinegar and salt. They used to be a staple but have long been forgotten by our food culture. That’s why in 2023, we set out to launch our first British-grown bean in collaboration with Hodmedod’s, the incredible company championing pulses and grains grown on British soil. Each bean variety is suited to different growing conditions so Bold Bean Co beans are sourced from the best possible climate. Bold Bean Co’s Queen Carlin Peas are then cooked low and slow to preserve flavour and texture - hence why they’re so creamy and full-flavoured. Perfect for vegans, cooking enthusiasts, and the health-conscious. One of the best things about Bold Bean Co’s Queen Carlin Peas is their convenience. They come in a glass jar, ready to be used in any recipe. They are perfect for busy weeknight meals, meal prepping or simply eaten straight from the jar. Mash them up, stew them up, crunch them up - they're packed full of natural protein so great for vegetarians and meat reducers. The Bold Bean Team love these in a flavour-filled saag with spinach or in a cheesy French Onion bake. WHY CHOOSE JARRED BEANS? Loved by celebrity chefs, jarred beans are a great way to add delicious flavour to your dishes without spending time soaking and boiling dried beans. There is no sodium metabisulphite or other additives in these beans, so you can enjoy them in their most natural form.
