Preheat the oven to 200ºC, gas mark 6. Toss the swede in the olive oil in a large shallow roasting tin. Season and roast for 15 minutes.
Add the sausages, apples and leek to the tin, toss gently in the oil and cook for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the swede is golden and tender.
Brush the sausages with the chutney. Scatter over the chilli and most of the thyme and return to the oven for 5-10 minutes, until cooked through, with no pink meat and the juices run clear. Scatter with remaining thyme, to serve.
