Crusted PortProduced exclusively for Waitrose & Partners by renowned Symington Family Estate, this is a fine example of a crusted port, a style with many of the characteristics of vintage port, but ready for drinking sooner and representing excellent quality for their price. Premier quality ports from two to three different vintages are blended and aged in the bottle for at least three years, creating a superb, full-bodied wine with firm tannins but a voluptuous silky texture. Very drinkable now, it will become even better with age. Crusted port takes its name from the sediment that forms as it ages, and like vintage port, it requires decanting.
