Food glossary



A sorbet or water ice is a frozen dessert made from fruit juice or pulp and sugar syrup. A variety of sorbets are available from Waitrose including: Waitrose Sicilian Lemon Sorbet, Waitrose Mango Sorbet and Waitrose  Passion fruit Sorbet.

Uses: Sorbets can be served as a dessert either as they are or with fresh fruit or thin biscuits such as wafers or shortbread. Sorbets are also served between courses to refresh the palate during a formal meal.

To store: Keep in the freezer and consume before the best before date. Do not refreeze after defrosting.
