Samosa and other mixed indian bites


A small filled crisp pastry, originally from India. Samosas are usually filled with a savoury mixture such as vegetables, minced meat with herbs and spices or cheese but they can also be stuffed with a sweet filling. Waitrose sell Vegetable samosas in packs of 4, they are stuffed with spiced potato, onion, peas and carrots and flavoured with ginger, coriander, chilli and cumin.

Uses: Samosas are often eaten as a snack or served as a starter. Serve with a simple dip made from natural yogurt and chopped fresh mint or coriander.

To store: Store in the fridge and consume by the use by date.

To cook: Place the samosas on a baking tray in the centre of a preheated oven at 200°C, gas mark 6 for 12-14 minutes.
