Black treacle

Made by refining molasses (a by-product of sugar refining) this thick black sticky treacle has a very distinctive almost 'burnt' flavour. It is not as sweet as golden syrup or honey and is not interchangeable with either in cooking.

Uses: In recipes that require its distinctive flavour and colour such as gingerbread, fruit cake, Christmas pudding and toffee.

To store: Keep in a cool, dark place for up to 1 year.
