Amaretto
A deep brown coloured Italian liqueur made from almonds, which give it its main flavour, and apricot kernels which are steeped in brandy and then sweetened. It has a similar flavour to marzipan. DiSarrono Amaretto is sold in Waitrose and is delicious served over crushed ice.
Uses: Delicious served with after dinner coffee or add to trifles, use to flavour whipped cream or drizzle over soft fruits.
